Down in the boonies🦍 - week 50

This week has been amazing. I've already experienced so much. Our area is so big. I'm super excited to get out to other towns out here. There is also villages but I'm not sure what they look like yet.

Like I said last Monday we went 'fishing'

Tuesday we went down to taidong for district council. It's about an hour train ride there then we have to use old missionaries and bike like 20+ minutes. Taidong is the furthest south area. It's super pretty down there. It looks like Hawaii although I've never been so how would I know. We have the senior couple missionaries in our district and they pulled up with these fire homemade ice cream sandwiches. So 🔥! After that we headed home. On the way home this guy walked up and was really interested in how our church is different. It was cool. He lives In Taipei.

Wednesday we went finding in the morning. This old lady invites us into her garage thing and gives us water. She was really nice. We did some finding them English group. We had a mom with two kids and a recent converts come. The mom is originally from Indonesia. They are super lit.

Thursday we spent that day walking around and knocking/street contacting. It we were out for a long time. It was fun and we ran into some miracles. We walked around Yuli and it was raining a lil bit. It's so pretty in our area!

Friday we took the train down about 30 minutes to a place called 富里 Fuli. It's a small town with few stuff but we had a friend that we went down and met. Her name is Michelle she likes painting. She is super nice and cool. She has painted many cool things in the past for missionaries. I want to ask her to paint something for me but idk what. We explored around knocking. That day was even more rainy. This week has had a decent amount of rain. It helped a lot because it's so hot here. The rain cools it down.

Saturday was a great day. Mainly because we had dinner with the branch president. We went to a steak place. It's steak and noodles. Then they have like ice cream and stuff you can get. It's one of my favorites here in Taiwan. The president has two daughters. They are both really cool. One went to BYU Hawaii for a year and is going to temple Square on a mission. We continued finding and stuff.

Sunday we went early to try to get this old lady to come to church. But she is old and she is a little slow. We couldn't get her to church. We confirmed like 8 people coming but only one came. We'll we tried. The person who came is really cool. After we had a meeting then ate lunch. After p study we took a train again to 富里 fuli. We took a our bikes and were going to bike back and knock homes but we stayed long time in fuli so we took a train back. Ate dinner and had some meetings and stuff.

This week has been hard just because I feel like nobody seems ready out here for the gospel. I know that they are out there. The Lord could tell us where they are and take us to them. But that's not the point.

I learned so much and had so much growth in a short amount of time. I know that I'm learning how to be a disciple of Christ. I'm very grateful.

愛你們,
Elder Clegg
