Week 52

This week has been pretty good man!

It was an adventure.

Last Monday we went up to see those monkeys. They were lit. We also went to the beach for a second because we were waiting for the others. Very pretty!

Tuesday we went to a new place across the river finding. It was actually really fun. A lot of the people there were just visiting from taipei city. Probably because some holiday. It was very pretty up in that area. It is right by the mountains. After we found there we went to get hot pot. The ice cream was so fire wow! After that we did some more finding.

Wednesday we had a fire lesson with one of our friends she is really lit! We gave her a book of Mormon and she asked some good questions. We asked her to say a prayer and she said a great prayer! She was also excited to do our invite to read and pray about the Book of Mormon! After that we did some finding had our English class then some more finding a that was the day!

Thursday was a crazy day fr. So first everyone in our district and also the zone leaders pulled up to YuLi for district council. It was pretty good! After that we started our exchange and I went all the way up to yilan. Which is the northern part of Taiwan. We got there at like 5:30pm. After we had some lessons then went knocking for the night. And we got the cops called on us. They said we couldn't knock on the certain road we were on. It was pretty funny!
After that we got 5 pizzas from pizza hut and took them home. That night we had 6 other elders come to the apartment we were in and we had a pizza party! It was so good to see everyone.

Friday was our zone conference in Hualien so us and the boys woke up at 3:30 to hit the train. They all came to the apartment in yilan because all the reserved trains were sold out. We took our journey on the local train and saw the sunset and the beautiful scenery. We then arrive in hualien. Hualien is so cool wow! There is the ocean on one side then huge mountains on the other. So pretty! We had our zone conference and afterwards we had interviews with the mission president! It was all good. We then took a taxi with the Aps and mission president to the station. We then rode our train home and went to bed! It was a long day. Stayed up for 19 hours basically!

Saturday was kinda hard day. Probably because I was so tired and out of it from Friday. Anyways we had a lesson with a new member and we met with a inactive member who seems to have been inactive for a long time. She is cool. She doesn't know anything about missionaries. She was fun to talk to. It was a good day but I just wasn't feeling it.

Sunday we had church and we did planning and some meeting. My comp is a sick so he decided to rest. So yeah. Nothing much happened.

Today we went and saw big statues made out of some kind of straw maybe. They made statues of big monkeys and birds and stuff it was cool. We went with 3 other from the states there. They were pretty cool.

That was basically my week
I want to share a scripture

Doctrine and Covenants 136:31
31 My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom.

We will go through hard things in our life. But that's okay. These hard things are needed for us so that we can grow. And become closer to Jesus Christ

Week 51

This week has been a pretty good week!

last Monday we went down to taidong to hit some golf balls. It was so lit!

Tuesday was so dang fun! We took our bikes on a train up to ruisui. It's about 30 minute train ride up north! We went finding up there it was very cool. We ran into this lit guy. Although he didn't want to set up he is pretty interested and has some questions. We gave him a book of Mormon and invited him to read it. We went up to ruisui looking for inactive members although they basically all moved. We then rode our bikes home. It was really lit. It was getting dark and we rode this sketchy bike train in the dark home. We then had pizza hut for dinner. So dang fire!

Wednesday we went all the way up to 宜蘭 yilan for zone council. It was really fun to see everyone! Traveling was so expensive tho! We then came home and had English group. Only one guy who is a new member pulled up. Later another new member pulled up. We then went finding and ran into a very cool mom and her daughter. They said we can come back and share more!

Thursday we had our exchange. I went with Elder Bluth. He is so lit. And fun! We had a fun time. This whole week it has been raining. Basically it has rained every day since I've been here. I guess we are in typhoon season fr. Anyways put exchange was fun we did alot of knocking and it was fun. Some lady gave Elder Bluth an umbrella because he didn't have one.

Friday we finished up our exchange with some bing. Basically shaved ice/ice-cream type thing.  Pretty dang fire. After that we went knocking had a lesson and later that night while walking I rang a doorbell. It's the kind where you can speak through it with out going out to. She told us we could come back Sunday! Usually with these they just say something to get rid of you. So yeah.

Saturday we went up this mountain to find someone. We talked to them and gave the son a Book of Mormon and talked with them. After we spent like half the day calling and tracking down a media referral and we got really close to their house. But couldn't find them. We got some fire dinner and bing then it was time to go home.

Sunday we went to church. And our highest potential friend came again. She is so cool. Afterwards we had a lesson with her and taught her the Restoration. It was good. She is super cool because she asks alot of questions about the Book of Mormon and stuff. So she will probably progress really fast! After we ate lunch then did studies and planning. Anyways that night we had a bunch of calls and meetings. But before we had a big miracle.
We went to the ladies house who we rung her doorbell. She came out and we were able to share about Heavenly Father and prayer. She is super cool and willing to set up again for this Wednesday!

Today we went and saw some monkeys! One of them got on top of elder Buer's head. It was pretty sick. Afterwards one tried to jump on Elder bluths finger because he put it out. And the monkey fell on the ground. After the monkeys were all angry and when you would point your finger at them they would open their mouths and act like they will attack you! It was pretty scary. Monkeys are scary!

This week was lit and I'm so happy!

Love toy all and hope yall have a good week

Down in the boonies🦍 - week 50

This week has been amazing. I've already experienced so much. Our area is so big. I'm super excited to get out to other towns out here. There is also villages but I'm not sure what they look like yet.

Like I said last Monday we went 'fishing'

Tuesday we went down to taidong for district council. It's about an hour train ride there then we have to use old missionaries and bike like 20+ minutes. Taidong is the furthest south area. It's super pretty down there. It looks like Hawaii although I've never been so how would I know. We have the senior couple missionaries in our district and they pulled up with these fire homemade ice cream sandwiches. So 🔥! After that we headed home. On the way home this guy walked up and was really interested in how our church is different. It was cool. He lives In Taipei.

Wednesday we went finding in the morning. This old lady invites us into her garage thing and gives us water. She was really nice. We did some finding them English group. We had a mom with two kids and a recent converts come. The mom is originally from Indonesia. They are super lit.

Thursday we spent that day walking around and knocking/street contacting. It we were out for a long time. It was fun and we ran into some miracles. We walked around Yuli and it was raining a lil bit. It's so pretty in our area!

Friday we took the train down about 30 minutes to a place called 富里 Fuli. It's a small town with few stuff but we had a friend that we went down and met. Her name is Michelle she likes painting. She is super nice and cool. She has painted many cool things in the past for missionaries. I want to ask her to paint something for me but idk what. We explored around knocking. That day was even more rainy. This week has had a decent amount of rain. It helped a lot because it's so hot here. The rain cools it down.

Saturday was a great day. Mainly because we had dinner with the branch president. We went to a steak place. It's steak and noodles. Then they have like ice cream and stuff you can get. It's one of my favorites here in Taiwan. The president has two daughters. They are both really cool. One went to BYU Hawaii for a year and is going to temple Square on a mission. We continued finding and stuff.

Sunday we went early to try to get this old lady to come to church. But she is old and she is a little slow. We couldn't get her to church. We confirmed like 8 people coming but only one came. We'll we tried. The person who came is really cool. After we had a meeting then ate lunch. After p study we took a train again to 富里 fuli. We took a our bikes and were going to bike back and knock homes but we stayed long time in fuli so we took a train back. Ate dinner and had some meetings and stuff.

This week has been hard just because I feel like nobody seems ready out here for the gospel. I know that they are out there. The Lord could tell us where they are and take us to them. But that's not the point.

I learned so much and had so much growth in a short amount of time. I know that I'm learning how to be a disciple of Christ. I'm very grateful.

To the most remote - week 49

This has been one of the longest weeks ever. And it has been one of the bests weeks too!

Last Monday night we went finding and ran into an old friend. It was good to talk to her.

Tuesday was our last district council. And one of the elders is going home. Elder Whittier. He is one of my favorite missionaries ever! He is so awesome and hardworking and all. After that we went over to a friend's house and she made us lunch. It was pretty fire. She has two little girls who are pretty funny. Basically they were watching cartoons. After starting a mission literally everything is entertaining!

Wednesday we had a couple lessons. One was with a member and their kids. Their kids aren't baptized so we taught the the Plan of Salvation. We invited the wife of one of the old Taichung mission president and she was a perfect person to bring along. She helped so much. During this lesson I get a call from president Whitely in which i discover. I'm moving to the most out there area in the mission called Yuli 玉里.  I was shocked!

That night we had English group and I got to teach the kids. There are three little girls. Basically I tell them to draw something on the board attempting to teach them the word or whatever. It was fun.

Thursday we attempted to go that old Taichung mission presidents home. And he lives up by a reservoir of water up in the mountains so we rode up there. We told him last Sunday we were coming so we called up homie and he said he's not there and you have to affirm with him. He is kind of of a troll and very funny guy! Later that day we had him and his wife accompany a lesson and they helped our friend so much although we didn't say a word haha.

Friday was a pretty miracle. We decided to go to a members home which he built himself. It was very cool. On the way to visit him we ran into a friend and she decided to tag along so that was lit. After we looked around the house the member made us banana smoothies. After we saw the friends home. Her home is pretty cool too! afterwards she brought us some vanilla coke and we put her in baptismal date! She is super elect! That night we had a baptism and this friend was coming but missed her stop and didn't make it :(
The bishop's family took us to the other chapel and after we ate some fire food! They then drove us home and it was lit.

Saturday I headed up to Taipei to transfer. We took the high speed rail two hours to Gaoxiong. Aka the other mission in Taiwan! So we left the mission :0
We then rode a train around the bottom of the island and up to my new area 玉里. We got here and it's crazy. It's crazy beautiful and crazy small. There is like nobody. We went to bed

Sunday we had church and like a total of 12 people were there also was fast Sunday. We went out finding and visiting our friends. Luckily we ran into a family who invited to dinner! Which is perfect we had not bought any food for fast Sunday so we were just not gonna eat! The family is so nice and very cool. The mom has met and made friends with many missionaries in the past! The finding was fun. I was very happy.

Today we rode a train down to taidong which is the furthest south area in the mission then we rode in a members car up to a place with a bridge to an island where the bishop took us and another member fishing. More like bishop went fishing we explored and eventually made it to where bishop is fishing.

So this guy caught a big fish and we got a picture. After we used bishops pole to catch some fish. Me and Elder Buer caught one. When Buer threw the fish back a barracuda came out of nowhere and ate the fish. It was the craziest and coolest thing I've seen ever! I'm so happy I caught a fish in Taiwan even though it was tinny haha! I had a great week!

I love you all and know God loves you each! 加油
