龍潭 no sea - week 90

 Hey guys how is it going? I just hit my last transfer. I am in a new area training and also a district leader. My new area is 龍潭 longtan. It's more country like. Similar to a previous area called 頭份 toufen. I love it out here already! I'm excited! My new companion is elder Greer he is also from Lehi haha. So lit! Anyways here is the week

Not going to lie because I don't have my journal on me so I don't remember really what we did but I'll try

On Tuesday we had some lessons then I remember eating with a member. His name is Roger. He is so fun I love him alot. Very nice! 

Wednesday we went to my favorite place for finding. It is ankeng 安坑. We also had English group. After that our new member bryan, the one preparing for a mission, gave us a gift from the Phillipines. Mango candy. It was so kind of him

Thursday was a great last day. Had some fire lessons and got some pictures with our friends and some members. It's all great. We also had pizza with Bryan this night. It was good to eat with him for my last day. It was lit! 

Friday was a very chaotic day. So I was supposed to be at the chapel at the mission office for the trainer meeting because I am trainning. So we were supposed to be there at 9 but here is what happened. I was about to take a shower so I turned on the water and I heard a big thunp and the water in the showere broke so I was like oh? My companions sink broke from putting to much pressure on it so the water broke and he cut his fingers pretty bad. They needed stitches. So we made some calls then took a taxi to the hospital where he got stitches. So that's an eventful morning. Anyways I made it to the transfer meeting at the last 5 minutes haha. Well I got with another elder moving into the district down there so we traveled down and u got with my new comp then headed to my new area!  So yeah. 

We had some fire lessons. One with Jason 林. And his daughter. They are the best! The dad is gonna be baptised this next Saturday and the daughter later. They are so awesome!

Saturday we did a decent amount of finding. The finding here is pretty fun, I like it alot. Elder Greer is the Goat. He is so fun to be with! I'm excited. We had a good Saturday!

Sunday was super fun. I got to meet a decent amount of the members. Hopefully I can remember their names haha! Anyways church was good. I introduced myself and shared my testimony about Christ. After I joined a video call where I watched these two from a previous area I taught before get baptised. It was awesome!  One of them took a couple tries(alot). She must be scared of water but finally was completed Yaya! It was good to see and also meet some members! We then did alot of studies. Planning and for me meetings. Overall a good Sunday! 

Today we are heading to heaven aka Costco! Then we will probably play basketball (maybe). Its raining so who knows. 

I am so grateful to be a missionary. And have a greenie  as lit as elder Greer. We will have a great transfer and work hard! Last transfer here we go!

授之以魚不如授之以漁 - week 89

Hello, this week has been absolutely fabulous. One of the best weeks for sure!

So last Tuesday was our pday so we hit up the temple. Man I love going to the Temple!

At night we had 2 lessons. One with Joseph we committed him to reading the book of mormon every day! Hope he does it! After his we had another lesson witha college student he is chill. After those we went out finding for the night. 

Wednesday was pretty lit. We first headed over to the mission office for a CO detector because ours is broken.  On the way we ran into a guy from Utah. He is a pilot and flew too taiwan and is here for layover till he has to fly back. We talked about his job. It's very interesting. I'm pretty interested in that. I'm still not sure what to do when I get home but this could be a good option :)

At the mission office I ran into elder bluth.  One of my favorites! We then got lunch and we got a mango slushie. Man it taste so dang good! Yummy 

We had some lesson with our friend. We don't know how to help him but that's OK. God does. we then had a member meal with sister Luo 羅姐妹, we ate hot pot. It was super funny. 羅姐妹 is awesome. We then headed to have english group. 

Thursday we had exchanges in xinzhuang 新莊. I exchanged with Elder Harrison. He is super lit. We came to taiwan together. He is super funny and we had a lit exchange. We had like 9 lessons and we found alot of friends and ate Costco for lunch. It was so awesome! One of the lessons was with Ray. I referred him over to 新莊 so it was cool to see him! He remembers me but calls me by my first name maxwell haha. He is lit. We did finding near the college. It was crazy to see alot of young people instead of old people haha.  Anyways our exchange was fire!

Friday we had mission devotional online. We had a lady who 請 us coffee. Bought coffee for us. We had to tell her we don't drink coffee. She was shocked bc she is a catholic. She was like we can drink coffee. That was funny.

We had a fire pass off lesson with the sisters. The friend we had is pretty cool. We then met with our friend who got baptised just not confirmed yet. After that we ate dinner with a member who bought me some new ties. And later talked to a lit member for a little bit.

Saturday was a special day. We did quite alot of finding. It was mid but later that night we had a baptism. So we got the water and font all ready then had a great baptism service. It was for the sisters friend from a different area but their friend wanted me to baptise her so that was really special. Their friend is named 張芸萓 Zhang YunYi. So that was awesome!

Sunday was also a very special day. First we helped give a blessing to our new member tina. She has an adorable baby. She is going in for 手術 (surgical operation). So we gave her a blessing. I also got to bless the sacrament so that was fun. Blessing it in chinese is cool. I've done it once before in 土城 tucheng (my second area). Anyways we then also confirmed 黃奕呈 Huang YiCheng to be a member of Christ's church and receive the holy ghost. So that was awesome! I then had an baptismal interview online with a old guy that only speaks Taiwanese. So I would speak Chinese and a member would translate to Taiwanese. So that was so fun.  After we had coordination meeting in person. We then had a member meal for lunch and another for dinner! Very blessed! Both these members families are so kind. One of them was the bishops family they have 4 kids and they are so fun. The also all speak like perfect English even tho they are super young. They also have Two pet birds. After dinner we headed over to 中和 zhonghe for a new member fireside it was so awesome. Our new member 黃奕呈 talked and shared his testimony at it! Super awesome! After that we came back home and that's about it. 

Today we went to a Japanese store. It has so much random useful things then we also went to ikea. It's pretty cool. Anyways

I'm am very greatful for the restoration. Especially the restoration of all preisthood keys so that we can have these beautiful ordinances to help and influence others for eternity. This week had many chances to use the priesthood which is great! I know it was restored to earth to Joseph Smith!

🏊游泳派對 - Week 88

 

This week has been pretty outstanding! 

I love it so much! Here is the rundown

On Monday (5月5號) we had a lesson and finding after the pday ended. We had a lesson with Mark, he is pretty lit. He asked alot about our how church is organized so that was fun. After we hit the streets to go finding and that's about it

Tuesday we had some interesting lessons with our friends. We went really sure what their desires and needs are. We sure hope we can help them but sometimes it's very difficult. We'll that's okay because we have help from God. We also had district council. And yeah overall a great day.

Wednesday we had some lessons and we had English group. I can't really remember if anything crazy happened. 

Thursday we had a super fire lesson in the morning. Then we had some other lessons and finding and stuff. We went finding in a place called 碧潭 for finding. It was really chill. That place is cool. We had alot of sucess there too.

Friday was super cool we had some good lessons with most our new members and best progressing friends. They are all doing well and our friend is read for baptism.

Saturday was fun. We went over to the other sisters area because I have a baptismal interview with one of their friends. She is super awesome. I love doing baptismal views it's the best! And we just did much finding. 

Sunday was a great day we had church then a baptismal service with my homie 黃奕呈 Huang YiCheng! He got baptised and it was so lit. I got the privilege of helping him get baptised. So that was a great moment for him! And for me. After that we went to a sisters home with abunch of members and some from japan. We ate lunch together. The bishop speaks pretty good Japanese. So he was talking to them in Japanese and also one of them was really good at the piano. They played for us, they are crazy good! After that we had normal stuff just planning and lessons. 

Monday wasn't pday so we worked. We had Ikea for Lunch. It was super chill up in iKea. We did studies there too which was fun! After we went to the church for a lesson then for district council. It went super well! After that a member brought us 韭菜盒. Chinese chives box. Basically chives in dough that is fried. She also got us peach KitKat from japan. It's very tasty!

After we did finding had a lesson and ate dinner then called formers. It was a pretty decent day. Pretty fun! 

Today is our temple day so we went to the temple for endowments, I love going to the temple it's the best! After I bought some stuff from the distribution center. Then we chilled in the office with some other missionaries and got 請'Ed, the president gave us money to buy food so that's lit. It was fun talking to the other elders and missionaries that I know. They are so fun!

 

Overall this week was fire. The baptism and fun lunch on Sunday help top of the day. We just ran into alot of nice things that happened. The people here are very kind and loving. 

1 Nephi 1:20

But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance.

I know the Lord gives us many tender mercies and they are so awesome. I invite yall to look for the tender mercies of the Lord in your life right now.

待會母親節快樂 - Week 87

 

Today was a pretty good week I guess. I'm running out of time . It's also very excited at the same time. So far the mission has been a fire experience! I have learned and grown so much! 

Last monday we went finding at night and had a lesson. That night we had an old guy who was like here let me buy you drinks. So he bought us drinks and a waffle thing. It was so kind of him!

Tuesday we had district council then we also had interviews. Like I always say interviews are the best! I always feel do loved and learn alot. We then came home and had a lesson with MR TONG 童先生. He is super funny guy. He always asks good question and stuff. After had a short lesson with this guy because he was late. Then a pass off lesson with the sisters. We passed off our friend Jamie. She is so lit and made us all s'mores. She also brought her friend. We had a great lesson. Then another lesson with our friend Panda. We shared restoration and it was great! Three more lessons after that that went well aswel. a super fire day!

Wednesday we first went finding in 安坑. My favorite place here. We stoped at a park and talked to this mom who was super nice. She bought us drinks from the vending machine. So kind of her. People here are so kind. People don't really like or accept the gospel but they are super kind. We found a cool lady who came to church this week too. She is fun too. We had some lessons and English group. It was all pretty fun.

Thursday we found a lady who came to church. We had another lesson with MR TONG. It was great ofc. We then went finding for most the night. It was pretty decent. Then we had lesson and coordination meeting. After we had our new member bryan. He opened his mission call! It's so cool Seeing a recent convert who is a high school student want to go and serve a mission. Such a special event. He is called to Adelaide Australia. So excited for him!!!

Friday we found and had lunch with a friend. He talked about how 辛苦(hard) it is to be in the army back then. He only had 4 hours of sleep a day for 2 years. That's crazy.

Later we were finding and ran into a recent convert who haven't been to church or incontact for awhile. She came to church so that's a cool miracle. 

At night we had a lesson with our homie Huang YiCheng.  He is doing great and is planned to be baptised next week! We then had a 突然(unexpected) lesson and it was fire!

Saturday was a 辛苦 day. We didn't find like anyone friends. We had an awesome morning lesson. It went well! Basically we just did a lot of finding and it was rough. Oh well. We had dinner snd got some free ice cream from the boss. So that made it all the better haha. 

Sunday was a pretty good day. We had a lesson before Sacrament meeting. Then we had like 5 of our friends come. Isn't as good as the previous weeks but it was great! Also one of the new members. She is so awesome. She has a newborn baby and brought the baby to church. One of the members helped give her baby a blessing. It was super special and sweet. The gospel truly is so joyful! We also had a 外國人 from salt lake come. Turns out his older brother teaches at skyridge. The woodshop teacher. I forgot his last name but that was so cool! So much a small world. Definitely a tender mercy from God. After church we did all our studies planning and contacting. Then we did finding and after some calls/meetings then also coordination meeting. We cover two wards. Overall a great sabbath day. 

Today we went out and hang out with a member then after we had lunch with some other members. Some of the elderly of our ward you could say. It was very delicious ! Other than that nothing much. Our pdays will probably kinda be boring the transfer but it's ok I guess. 

But yeah. I'm very excited to keep going. Sad and excited to be done. (I'm not trunky吧) 

I have seen so much progress in myself and i know all the hard experiences are to help me and make me know how important the atonement of Jesus Christ.

7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; 
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.

9 For verily I say unto you, they are given for the benefit of those who love me and keep all my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do; that all may be benefited that seek or that ask of me, that ask and not for a sign that they may consume it upon their lusts.

Doctrine and Covenants 24:8
8 Be apatient in afflictions, for thou  have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days.

John 16:33

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The Scriptures are full of amazing truths. I'm am greatful that Christ has overcame the world. Greatful that I may receive peace nd comfort through Christ and His atonement. I am grateful blessings come for those who keep the commandments and those who seeketh so to do so!
