Sick dog - Week 43

 

This week should be short. Basically I got sick from Wednesday till now. We didn't do much work from Wednesday to Saturday sadly. It kinda sucked. Today I'm still not feeling good but we roll.

Last Monday we went to the petting zoo which was really awesome. So happy to see capybaras.

Tuesday we had district council and did some finding. That night we had a member visit with the bishop and his family. One of his daughters is on her mission in taizhong. It went pretty lit. And it was good food. 

Like I said Wednesday I was sick. My throat hurt and I was congested. 

On Friday we got news that my companion is moving and I am staying.

I'm getting a missionary who has been here for 6 weeks. So it should be a learning experience. Also I'm becoming the district leader and an area is closing by me so I'm IN charge of that. So it's going to be really hard. 

Sunday we went to church had 3 people come. Talked to the member's and said goodbye. We did studies and finding that's about this week. I'm still not feeling great. But that's life.

Today we played some board games and ate hotpot. That's about it

Hopefully I start feeling it and can be excited to work and try my hardest.

WEEK 42

This week has been pretty fire.

Last Monday we went to the dragon boat festival thing to watch the boats race

Tuesday we had district council and right after started an exchange. To start the exchange we ate soup dumplings. They are fire. Anyways I went with Elder Whittier on exchange. I stayed in my area. We just had a lot of finding that we did. We went to a night market that is only open on Tuesdays. It was popping. It is really cool too. We had a good exchange I saw some miracles.

Wednesday we ended our exchange.

We had are English group and we had a girl come. Afterwards she asked us some questions about church. This was her first time coming and she has a lot of questions. It was pretty cool

Thursday we did finding and stuff.

Friday was so awesome! Because we went all the way up to the temple.

We had some morning finding then got food and took a bus up to Taipei. That was pretty lit. Anyways we went to the temple to do endowments. I did the parts in Chinese it was pretty cool. It is really relaxing to go to the temple. It took a lot longer than we thought so we hurried to catch a bus but 結果 (in the end) we had to take a later one. So we got McDonalds for dinner than took our bus. It also came a little late so we didn't get home till 9. So that took up most of the day. It was worth it and very good.

Saturday we we to an activity where they made cakes(brownies basically). So that was fun. We went because we had a friend go and also had to teach a member new member lessons.

Sunday we had church. After church we ate food together. It was good to talk to the members. We did some studies and stuff. Then we went to a members home to eat dinner. It was pretty traditional. Some of it was good but it wasn't astonishing. But we are very grateful they let us come over. Super nice. 

Today we decided to go to a petting zoo. So we planned to bike a long way to it. We rented a bike to do it. Anyways at the petting zoo was the first time I've seen capybaras. They are so cute. They also had baby ones. So cute. They had some other cool stuff. Anyways we decided to bike into the city. Turn out the bikes we rented can't be parked in the city we went to so we had to take it all the way back on the train. That was very scuffed. But it was a good experience. Originally we were going to eat hot pot but because of the bike stuff it all got scuffed. I got pretty burnt too. It was so hot today.

Happy dragon boat festival? - Week 41

Hello! Apparently today is 端午節 dragon boat festival and they race dragon boats (real). So that's pretty lit. I'm not sure what the origins of this are but seems lit. 

Last Monday we went to a members house read scriptures and taught about the temple. We are trying to help the mom get her endowments. And for the dad I think he's not active so we will focus on helping the mom and kids Go to the temple.

Tuesday we had district council. we ate some 包子 baozi. Which is a stuffed steamed bun. We did some knocking.

Wednesday we fixed our bikes. My bikes tire was ripping and the inner tube was coming out so I needed new ones. We had English group and we had a lesson that day. We set a baptismal date but it's going to be hard. Hard to teach her.

Thursday we had our exchange with the ZLs. I stayed in my area and it went pretty well. Basically we did a ton of finding.

Friday we finished our exchange then we ate steak for lunch. It was fire. afterwards we had another exchange. I went to a different area with Elder Blodgett. We worked really hard and it was good. We saw some cool miracles.

I was exhausted though. Elder Blodgett is fun to work with.

Saturday we finished our exchange earlier in the morning. Then we went to the church for a primary activity. We had a friend come to the activity and she brought her daughter. It went well. Afterwards we had a lesson with a kid and his mom. They are both members we were just doing the new member lessons. After that we went with a member to help the friend find something in her garage. The member that came was really cool. She is super nice.

Sunday we went to the church early for a lesson. It didn't go the best. But it's ok. We then had church. Also that mom and her daughter came which was good. Afterwards the mom asked about Temples because that's what they learned about. We first were knocking doors then we decided to go the a big mall. There were so many dang people there it was pretty crazy. It was hard to talk to people. But I ended up finding this really cool dude. He was so chill and fun to talk to. He agreed to set up a time. That was about Sunday. 

Today we had a member meal. The food was pretty good but the ice cream was so fire. Definitely one of the bests I've had. One was like a strawberry mixed with fire vanilla ice cream. Then another one was cookies and cream. It was probably the best cookies and cream I've had. Fire.

We went to see the dragon boats and stuff. So that was cool

The Homies Week 40

 

Hello Everyone! This week has been good. Recently I've been burnt out but I'm getting the hang of finding and knocking doors. It's pretty fun how much people get mad or are impolite. But there's also a lot of nice people don't get me wrong.

Here is the recap.

Last Monday we played board games a exchanged afterwards we did some finding.

Tuesday we had zone conference. We rode to get on the train and we biked through basically a flood it was crazy. We arrived at zone conference soaking wet. The zone conference was cool. It's sad though because we are getting a new mission president. President Yang was the best mission president fr.

Wednesday we did some finding had an in person lesson and we had English group. after we found a baby tiny gecko. So cute !

Thursday  we had exchanges. I went with Elder power. He is really funny and cool. Fun to do missionary work with. Actually he went to the same high-school as me and we were in Chinese class together for a little. 

Friday we ended of the exchange with McDonalds. Friday night we went to a members home and his son who is not a member was just playing on his computer in the middle of the room. So he was loud and it's harder to feel the spirit. But we talked with this member and helped him out. Hopefully we can get him to understand the importance of Temples. 

Saturday we did finding knocking and had a new member lesson. It was lit. Like I said I'm getting better at knocking and stuff. So that's good!

Sunday we went to zhubei 竹北 chapel aka stake center. We went there for stake conference. It went really well. And we sat near some crazy kids. They are so noisy. Anyways there I met the people from Utah who are doing a small study abroad. And I ran into Luke and Kyle. Two people from the same ward in Utah. It was very cool to see them. And a big miracle.

Today for pday we went to the beach. It was really fun. We caught crabs we made some stuff in the sand. Played Frisby and made a river. It was all fun. Sadly I didn't take any pictures. But I'll see if I can find some. There was just a bunch of windmills out in the ocean. It was weird but it's pretty windy out there so that's good. 

That was this week. Again I'm struggling but also growing. And it's been amazing to see the growth.
