WEEK 30

This week has had ups and downs.

Last Monday we went hiking with some other elders in our zone. It was pretty fun. And a cool hike. The thing about hikes here is you are still so close to the cities.

Tuesday we did a lot of finding. Idk how I feel about finding. It's a love and hate relationship. Before I start finding I don't want to do it at all. But after I get going it's fine.

Wednesday we had district council English group and did some finding.

Now Thursday was awesome. We went to the zone leaders area. We went to Costco and ate pizza and hot dog. Too bad they don't have pepperoni pizza. There are some things they don't have here that I miss so much. We started our exchange after lunch. I was with Elder Read and was staying in their area. Called xizhi. 汐止. We basically went finding all day. But it was so much more fun. I think because I was with Elder Read. He is super funny and alot of fun to be with. We found 13 friends. We'll they count as friends but yeah. A lot. 

Friday we were still on the exchange. We had mcdonalds for breakfast because their apartment is right by it. I tried mcdonalds pancakes for the first time. I've heard they were good from lots of people. We did some finding and yeah.

Saturday we had a activity at the bishops house which was fun. It was a young single adult ward activity. We ate together and then we shared some stuff. It was pretty fun. They have a turtle. It's a pretty big turtle in a small tank. And he was about to climb out so I grabbed him. They are really strong actually. It was crazy.

Sunday we went to church which is always good. Nothing crazy happend but a homie gave us some nuts for free. 

I'm super ready for a new companion lol. Transfers are in a week. I'll probably stay but get a new comp. Hopefully it will be more fun.

Today we are going down south to jiaoxi 礁溪.  It should be really fun. There will be fish that can eat your toes. So that's lit. I love you guys I know God loves you all. We are all his children

WEEK 29

 

What's up!

This week has been really long ngl. And my stomach has hurt these past two days. But no problem.

Last monday we at Costco then went bowling. I kind of suck at bowling but it was really fun. We also did some racing on the arcade machine. I didn't lose once! 😍. It was alot of fun.

Tuesday we had our zone conference. So that was really good. Our president shared about the culture here. And the religious culture. Always a hood time going. We we got back we got on our bikes and went to a friend's house for a lesson. It was all about prayer.

Wednesday we had district council and ate some yummy potstickers. We also had English group which was really fun.

When I was changing my bedding I lifted up my bed. And there was a gecko under it haha. He was super cute but I caught him and let him outside.

Thursday 

We traveled for like an hour for what we thought was a lesson. But the person gave us food then went to work. We got like chicken wings, chicken feet, tofu, radish, and pig blood cake Soo yeah. We then met with our ward mission leader and ate hot pot. We discussed what we would teach for the second hour of church

Friday just some finding and stuff. Idk we did alot a planning. We were going to do some door knocking but we just talked to some homies and then thats that.

Saturday we had interviews. President Yang told me some good advice about contacting. He told me it's all a mindset. And other good stuff. Truly has the priesthood authority from God to be the president. Super inspired by the Holy Ghost. He they took us to eat some Mexican food. It was yummy. He always buys food for us. He super nice. We then had a member visit.

Sunday was good. Us and the ward mission leader taught the 2nd our to the whole ward. We played a game then related it to missionary work. It was good. On the way home to eat lunch they had two big military boats so we took pictures, they are pretty sick.

We had a lesson. And We went to the docks and did some finding. I ran into this homje who had an rc helicopter and car. He would set them up and take pictures of em lol.

This week went really slow. But we have exchanges this week and I'm excited to go with really cool guy Elder Read. He is from the london. He is super funny and I love him. He doesn't have a thick accent. His accent is actually cool. He was born in South Africa and livefthere for a little. 

I've had a mindset change with contacting people. We face a ton of rejection. And I would hate being rejected and stuff. But recently I have felt totally fine when they reject. Even though the mission is super awesome. Also super trash sometimes. It's such a good learning experience. Nothing is better for an individual than a mission. Your testimony grows so much and you have so much growth. My relationship with our Saviour Jesus Christ has grown so much. So greatful

WEEK 28

 

What's up my homie g somes 

This week has been good.

Last Monday we went to Costco to eat lunch. After that we went to Taipei 101. It's one of the tallest buildings in the world. And the tallest in Taiwan. So that was fun. We went up to like the 98th floor. The view was bad bc it was kind of cloudy. But it was fun

Tuesday we had a lesson with Sophie. She has been reading the BoM. She is in a different church right now. We invited her to come to ours. She Saif she would pray about it. Then guess what. She showed up. So that's lit.

We had steak noodles with a friend for dinner. He is a professor at the university near us. So that's cool. It was pretty yummy!

Wednesday we had district council then ate hot pot. And we ate dinner with a member and after taught English class. I taught el niños. The kids. So that was fun but tough. They are so hyper! And you never know what they are thinking or what they will do haha.

Thursday we had a lesson in the afternoon. The guy likes to talk a lot. He reads the book or Mormon though. But he just talked about history and stuff haha. We then went to our friends house. And helped him clean up. His situation isn't great. His house has a bunch of just trash and stuff. Be we couldn't throw it away because his mom would get mad. His parents aren't very nice to him

I'm so grateful for my parents and the gospel. I know a lot of people actually have these problems. But I'm grateful for the Gospel and how much it helped me and my family. So grateful.

Friday we ate lunch and had a lesson with our friend. He is a college student. It went well. We talked about how our baptism is different. How we have the authority from God. And he also has finished the book of Mormon. So that'd awesome. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I invite you to try and read it every day!

Saturday night we went finding as a district. I went with Elder Read. This guy is super funny. He is from the Uk but he

Ok. Haha. That was fun though. He likes to just laugh it off. It's fun.

Sunday we went to church. Then we visited a member. This guy is like 70 years old. Get this. He was talking about how he exercises. Then he got on the ground and did like 25 pushups in a row. Man's cracked. It was so stunning.

We also had a lesson. It went good. Although it was long. 

Today we are going to Costco for lunch. Yum yum. Then probably bowling and arcade with the other two elders in our district.

I'm so grateful to be out here. Taiwan is truly awesome. There isn't much success but the people are super awesome. And kind. The Island is so pretty. I'm glad to severe where my dad did. So grateful. I'm sure the island back then was prettier.

I love you all. And I know the Book of Mormon is true. And I know we are all God's children. And he loves us perfectly.

WEEK 27

 This week had some interesting things happen.

Monday we went to Costco with a member and it was great. At some fire food. A beef steak bake. And some chicken. 

Tuesday we had our zone conference it was good to see everyone. We then had a lesson. After that we visited a members home. A sister and her son. It was fun to go over there. I always love visiting members. After that we went to the police station to show them a weird envelope my comp got lol. It was interesting.

Wednesday we were eating lunch at this place and one of the workers. Was like are you guys Mormon. I've seen you guys a long time ago. He is not interested but that was cool to see them. That night we had English group and had a couple new people come. One of them was really cool.

Thursday we went down to yilan 宜蘭. Yilan is super flat and is full of rice fields. Its down south and its more in the country. Its really sick there. And it was pretty hot there. And not rainy! In keelung 基隆 it's almost always raining here. We went to yilan to help some elders move so that was fun. To get there we went on a train and it was a pretty ride.

Friday we went to the college near us. One of the professors invited us to do a presentation in English about the gospel lol. There was like 100+ people. So that's crazy! We then had a lesson and it went alright I guess. Then we ate douhua 豆花 with a member. It's like jellied tofu then it has some toppings you can put in it. Pretty yum.

Saturday we took a bus down south and had a lesson. It was cool down there. So pretty. Taiwan is so pretty. As missionaries you don't fo sight seeing really but what I've seen so far is awesome.

Sunday we went to church it was fast Sunday so I bore my testimony. We then had ward council. We did some finding and that's about that.

I've been studying more about joseph smith and started reading the old Testament. Which has been good so far. I love how much the Bible refers to stuff in the book of Mormon. They truly complement each other 

I know they are both true.
